Purpose

The Rotary Youth Exchange program aims to provide students with transformative cultural experiences, promoting leadership, understanding, and global connection. By immersing participants in a new language, culture, and community, the program encourages personal growth and a broader worldview. Its primary goal is to develop young leaders who can bridge cultural differences, promote peace, and advocate for justice in an increasingly interconnected world.

How it works

Students are placed with host families in their exchange country and attend local schools, offering them opportunities to learn a new language, engage with peers, and experience a different education system. Host families and Rotary clubs serve as mentors and support systems, guiding students as they adapt to their new environment. These experiences help participants develop independence, adaptability, and cultural awareness.

Impact

Living with host families has taught me to adapt to new traditions and build meaningful relationships despite cultural and linguistic differences.
