The Par for Purpose Golf Tournament debuted this year (2024) as the inaugural event of an annual tradition dedicated to supporting the Mitchell Thorp Foundation. This organization provides vital assistance to families with children facing life-threatening illnesses.
The tournament included 18 holes of golf, followed by a post-event dinner and a silent auction, with all proceeds benefiting the foundation.
My involvement with the Mitchell Thorp Foundation began years ago through their Youth Leadership Council, where I witnessed firsthand the profound impact they have on families in need. Inspired by their unwavering commitment to providing support and hope, I felt compelled to contribute in a meaningful way.
As an avid golfer, I saw an opportunity to combine my passion for the sport with my dedication to the foundation’s mission. I approached the Mitchell Thorp Foundation with the idea of creating a golf tournament that would raise funds and awareness for their cause. Together, we collaborated to bring this vision to life, resulting in the inaugural Par for Purpose Golf Tournament.
This event not only combined my love for golf with a cause that deeply resonates with me but also became a powerful testament to the impact of collaboration and community effort.
